Business Intelligence (BI) Developer

    FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt

    General Description:

    The Business Intelligence (BI) Developer will be responsible for the upkeep and development of warehouse data to support PDMI’s business decision making. The BI Developer builds and maintains a data warehouse design to generate reports on financial and market intelligence to aid in business performance monitoring and business decision making.

    Responsibilities:

    • Ability to demonstrate, understand and apply our workplace mission, vision and values
    • Work with business representatives to gather report requirements and translate business needs into technical specifications
    • Develop and maintain stored procedures
    • Maintain data analytics platforms
    • Evaluate and improve existing BI systems.
    • Develop, analyze and test report results
    • Ad-hoc report development for business users when necessary
    • Work with the company's development team in building new dashboards and reports
    • Assist with complex SQL queries and SQL analytical functions
    • Work with business to define user access permissions
    • Completes user access forms
    • Tests user access permissions

    Work & Education Experience Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university
    • 5+ years of experience creating and maintaining stored procedures
    • 5+ years analytics experience
    • 2+ years AWS Quicksight
    • Experienced in both T-SQL and Tableau
    • Experience working with an ETL tools
    • Previous experience with SSRS, ETL tools and data analytics required
    • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server (2016), Management Studio, Microsoft Visual Studio, AWS, PowerBI
    • Ability to develop a unique understanding of PDMI brand, products, and services
    • Excellent Microsoft Office skills with emphasis on Excel

    Supervisory/Leadership Responsibilities:

    There are no supervisory responsibilities with this position. However, for specific special projects, this position often requires leadership skills.

    Language Skills:

    Ability to read and interpret documents. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively and persuasively before others.

    Reasoning Skills:

    Ability to apply basic concepts. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. 

    Other Skills & Abilities:

    Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, businesses and community. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form. Ability to perform duties with awareness and in accordance with PDMI's policies.
