Senior Microsoft Solutions Developer

    The developer is part of collaborative / cross-functional team that builds and supports applications using the Microsoft .NET development stack.  Responsibilities include analysis, design, development, testing and support of a suite of web applications and APIs.

    In the performance of their respective duties and responsibilities, all PDMI employees are expected to conform to the following:

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

    Application Development & Testing (60%):

    • Develop and maintain web applications built on ASP.NET MVC 5 using C#, utilizing JQuery, Bootstrap and other web frameworks.
    • Develop and maintain ASP.NET WebAPI 2.x APIs for shared back-end business layer.
    • Creating unit tests for new and old code.
    • Assist in developing sound web software architecture for new development or legacy code migrations.
    • Make technical recommendations for more efficient operations, troubleshooting and issue resolution.
    • Design and configure systems with a focus on best practices for scalability, supportability, ease of administration, and system performance.
    • Assist in development and maintenance of legacy WCF services that integrate with other applications.
    • Assist in development and maintenance of legacy applications, including windows forms applications, console applications, and services, written in both VB.NET and C#.

    Business Support Operations (10%):

    • Work with Data Services team to define and implement efficient database models and data object models.
    • Collaborates with Quality Assurance on development of test cases, test execution and defect resolution.
    • Collaborates with other IT areas and business teams on solution requirements, troubleshooting and issues identification and resolution.

    Assisting/Coaching (20%):

    • Assist other team members when technical issues arise, providing solid feedback and suggestions.
    • Understanding a general grasp of all PDMI .NET application offerings, to be able to assist in times of need for both business and technical reasons.

    Administrative (10%):

    • Attend meetings to support business users when needed.
    • Participate stand-up meetings.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    This job has no supervisory responsibilities, although some training/coaching will apply to the following:

    • Coaching/training of teammates as it relates to the application(s) they are working with you on.
    • Sharing knowledge of applications with teammates working on the same project.
    • Reporting technical issues to your manager when appropriate.

     Competencies, Skills and Other Requirements:

    • Demonstrates strong analytical ability and aptitude to translate designs from business concepts into sound technical solutions.
    • Ability to work collaboratively and use a variety of interpersonal communication methods to effectively convey information to business and non-technical audiences.
    • Experienced in Object-Oriented design and development.

    • Experienced with Agile and SDLC methodologies.
    • Self-motivated and directed.
    • Ability to work on multiple efforts concurrently and shift priorities quickly.
    • Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail.

     Education and/or Experience:

    • Four-year degree in information technology or computer-related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • 5+ years of proven development experience in Microsoft technologies building and maintaining desktop and web applications.
    • Knowledge of MS Office suite of products.
