Information Security Analyst

    Reports to: Manager of Infrastructure, Continuity, and Security

    FLSA Status: Exempt

    Summary: Designs, implements, and enforces security policies that protect systems and data from access by unauthorized users. Creates procedures for data access, protection, and backup. Investigates security violations and modifies procedures to prevent future incursions. Reviews changes to information systems to ensure compliance with security standards. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

     

    Job Duties (100%): 

     

    • Understand Windows and Linux security models
    • Understand TCP/IP network security concepts
    • Develop and maintain policies and procedures regarding security protocols
    • Audit of security measures
    • Understanding of IDS/IPS systems
    • Provide guidance on security improvements
    • Lead security audit initiatives such as SSAE-16

    Supervisory Responsibilities:                                                   

    This job has no supervisory responsibilities, although some training/coaching will apply to the following:

     

    • Share knowledge of duties with fellow employees.  Train/mentor fellow employees

      Education and/or Experience:    

       

    • Bachelor’s degree preferred
    • Experience with TCP/IP Networking
    • Experience with Windows and Linux/Unix operating systems
    • Experience with Microsoft Office suite of products
    • Familiarization with network packet tracing and analysis with tools such as Wireshark
    • Two (2) – four (4) years of experience in related field
